Some ten years ago Caroline Perrin began to metamorphose the appearance of everyday objects by dressing them in shells. Since then she has developed this idea and now undertakes commissions for large decorative schemes, grottos, fountains and obelisks.
The originality of her creations lies principally in the refinement of their composition, in which the shells are mounted in carefully ordered lines. The symmetry, balance and choice of soft tones result in work which is elegant, simple and luxurious. Sometimes it is reminiscient of moonlight, when the effect is produced by the gleam of mother-of-pearl ; at other times the appearance is more exotic, when different kinds of wood are used in the construction.
Particular care is taken to ensure the quality of the objects before they are decorated, in order to make works which are durable as they are beautiful. Each creation is a unique work , hand made to guarantee the highest degree of perfection.
